Difference Between JEE Mains and Advance

 

The first difference is in the courses provided. JEE Mains provide admission in

 

NITs, IIITs, and other institutions for BE and B. Tech courses. Whereas JEE

 

Advanced is the criteria to get admission to 23 IITs in the country.

 

For appearing in JEE Mains there is no required percentage. But, for JEE

 

Advanced there is need for minimum of 75% in class 12.

 

The students can appear for JEE Mains is 3 consecutive years (2 times in a year) after passing 12th. Whereas, in JEE Advanced students can appear only for 2 consecutive years.

 

JEE Mains and Advanced consist of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 of JEE Exam is held online and Paper 2 is conducted offline. Whereas, in JEE Advanced both the Papers are conducted online.

 

The syllabus of both the exams is also separate. The JEE Main syllabus comprises Class 11th as well as 12th Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Whereas in JEE Advanced, some additional topics are to be covered in the exam.
